KRISTIN WOOD

Associate Attorney

Kristin concentrates her practice in elder law including guardianship proceedings, long-term care planning and Medicaid applications, estate planning matters including special needs planning, as well as decedent estate matters in probate court and trust administrations.  Kristin enjoys working with clients and guiding them through all stages of their legal matters.  She is client-focused and quickly identifies her client's needs and effectively explains complex legal issues to give her clients peace of mind. 

 

Kristin is a member of the National Academy of Elder Law Attorneys (NAELA) and is active with the Illinois NAELA Chapter.  She is also a member of the Chicago Bar Association and participates in the Elder and Disability Law Committee and Probate Practice Committee.  

 

Kristin is a graduate of DePaul University College of Law. During law school she was the Vice President of Law Students for Reproductive Justice and the Magister of the Phi Delta Phi International Legal Fraternity.  While a law student, Kristin first gained elder law experience when she clerked for the Office of the Cook County Public Guardian in their Adult Guardianship Division where she worked to recover assets that had been stolen from adults with disabilities.  

 

Kristin volunteers with PKD Foundation and supports organ donation awareness.  In her free time, she enjoys spending time with family and friends, traveling, baking, and cheering on the Cubs at Wrigley Field.
